Free online photoshop-like editor – Splashup

splashup There are many image editing programs that professionals use.  If you’ve heard Adobe Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop, you should rest your eyes on Splashup.  This is an online editor much like the big names.  It works great for editing projects like logos and touching up photos.  I have created a video to highlight some of it’s features.

Here is how you can get started using Splashup today.

South Carolina energy providers plan to tweet

No FishingImagine your power going out at home.  You light your candles (assuming it’s dark outside), then you rush to grab your cell phone in case of an emergency.  Well, some people will, because twenty percent of South Carolinians live in a wireless-only household.  Assuming you are a current twitter user, you can follow your social-networking friendly power company.  If you are not a twitter user, then you will need to follow a basic guideline for using twitter before getting started.  The main aspect of “tweeting” is to keep your status to 140 characters or less.  The CDC leads by example with their cdcEmergency and CDC_eHealth twitter accounts totaling over 400 thousand followers.  Duke Energy twitter account is approaching 1,000 followers.

Any Comments to this?  I for one, would love it if I saw tweets like:

power down in the upstate, likely due to another squirrel biting the dust.

eta for power being turned back on  is 5 hours in some areas due to snow (and ice)

don’t go near downed power lines, it is extremely dangerous
